Hormone Therapy

This week I started my hormone therapy. I'm taking a medication daily called Femara. It's an estrogen blocker which they give me because my tumor was estrogen positive. The drawback is that it affects the bone density. So they gave me another medication today by IV called Zometa to counteract that side effect. I will have to have that every 3 months. The good news is that for some reason, people who take Zometa have less recurrence of breast cancer. I'm happy to take anything that increases my odds of it not coming back.
